Challenge by Choice is what participants hear at our High Ropes Course. The elements are designed to encourage individuals to challenge their comfort zone and grow as a person by inviting them into a space where they feel safe to be courageous. Participants decide their level of participation and many reach heights (pun intended) beyond what they thought they could do. We often hear stories about how this boost of courage plays out off the course as they build upon this courage in their everyday lives.
Low Challenge Course
"Teamwork makes the dream work" --John C. Maxwell
On the Sonrisa Low Challenge Course at CYO Camp, participants experience the highs of coming together as a team as they face the challenges of elements like the Yogurt Beam, Trust Fall, Whale Watch, Islands and more. Groups are presented with a task at each element and are asked to complete these tasks often with unique parameters such as no talking. After each element our trained staff facilitate a discussion focused on how the challenge they faced might play out in their daily lives. Different elements focus on different areas such as communication, trust, leadership, and problem solving.
Archery
CYO Camp is one of the only places that our participants experience archery.
Swimming
From May to September, participants cool off in our pool.
Horseback Riding
Horseback riding is a popular activity during summer camp and family camps. Our horses are best at round pen and pasture rides. Due to construction, we will not be offering horseback riding for family camps.
Sports & Games
From Gaga Ball to basketball, we have so many options for sports and games.
