Summer camp at Camp Rancho Framasa is different than other camps! While we are committed to the FUN, this camp experience is also brimming with Catholic faith. Camp Rancho Framasa has many programs to choose from...all offering a positive, inclusive, faith filled experience. Camp activities include: swimming, canoeing, campfires, games, sports, nature, faith hour (parables), hiking, horseback riding, scripture, handicrafts, climbing tower, dance, low ropes challenge, camp-out, Mass, cook-out, drama, and archery. Whether campers are at Mass, hiking in the woods or sleeping under the stars self-esteem grows, relationships form, cooperation and courage happen ALL within a child who attends Camp Rancho Framasa for a few days!
LIVING AT CAMP
Cabins Campers live in air conditioned cabins equipped with bathrooms and showers. Staff members live with campers to provide a 1 to 5 ratio.
The Catholic Experience Our Catholic identity and traditions are an integral part of our camp. Prayer is a part of each day. Summer campers are given opportunities to live the Catholic faith through the St. John Bosco Bead Program. Participants discover a sense of self and appreciation for others and see all these wonders as a reflection of God. Campers attend Mass on Friday. This is the last camp event for all campers. It is a perfect way to end our week as we join to pray, reflect, and celebrate our God. Not Catholic? We welcome you to camp to share in the Catholic experience where faith is interwoven into the day in a comfortable and welcoming way.
Wellness CYO camp employs a Health Care Manager for the summer and two camp nurses each week. They provide health screenings, take care of campers and staff that are sick or injured, talk to parents, and distribute medications to campers who need them. All health care at CYO Camp is under the guidance of the camp doctor who practices in our local town of Nashville, standing orders, and ACA guidelines. Campers who arrive at camp ill will be asked to reschedule their camp session.
Meals The Food Service Staff at camp work hard to provide quality, healthy meals that have been prepared in a clean and sanitary environment that adheres to the Indiana State Board of Health and the American Camp Association standards for food service facilities. Meals are healthy and fresh…not processed. The summer menu focuses on kid friendly food. The majority of produce served at camp is organic and many of our baked goods are from “scratch.” Hot meal, salad/fruit bar, peanut butter and jelly and a vegetarian option are included at each meal. We are knowledgeable in meeting many food sensitivities and allergies. Have questions? Contact: angi@campranchoframasa.org
Programming for the Weather Campers swim every day! On hot days water play is incorporated into many activities. Drinking water is available throughout the day. Our cabins and dining hall are air conditioned so in the event of heat advisories we are able to move indoors. In addition we head indoors during storms and rain and stay busy with games and songs. In the event of severe weather, CYO Camp follows an established and practiced emergency action plan.
