WE BELIEVE
Our Catholic identity and traditions are an integral part of our camp. Prayer is a part of each day. Summer campers are given opportunities to live their faith through the St. John Bosco Bead Program. Participants discover a sense of self and appreciation for others and see all of these wonders as a reflection of our God. We aim to build community through the love of Christ. There’s no better way to encounter Jesus than through the friends and fun that people encounter at CYO Camp.

WE INCLUDE

All programming at CYO Camp is inclusive. Inclusive programming at CYO Camp is a holistic approach to providing programming for people of all abilities and backgrounds. Being inclusive means, we all participate together, and all are respected and valued for our whole selves. Additional staff support and/or program and facility adaptations are available. For more information about support for a child please contact Lauren at [email protected] or 1-812-988-2839, x125.

WE FOCUS

CYO Camp exists for those who come to its programs. We are committed to providing an environment that puts people first and things second. We center our intentions around building strong relationships with our participants and each other. In turn, we share this value with people who visit camp, inviting them to do the same. We are camper and participant centered which means we are in the present moment to engage, pray, and play with others.

WE ARE HUMBLE

Living simply, focusing on relationships, and putting others first are at the heart of this value.

In Matthew 22, Jesus was asked, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" And Jesus answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and will all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."

Participants experience simplicity by sharing cabin space and by leaving technology at home. Campers learn that we are called to walk humbly with God: putting others before ourselves and being in the present moment with our camp community.

WE GROW

Having Christian principles into practice throughout our programs enables staff and participants to grow in healthy spirit, mind, and body. We aim to create opportunites for people to gather a deeper understanding in values such as respect for others, trust of self and community, and in a faith that does not divide but a faith in a God who loves us and wants us to love others.

WE CARE FOR OUR EARTH

At CYO Camp we care for our Earth! Our earth friendly practices include…composting, recycling, re-using, and using earth friendly products. Finally, we share our love of the earth with each person who comes to camp. The beautiful setting provides the WOW factor, and we provide the learning.
