Early Departures The check-out time for all sessions is 2-3pm. We care deeply about your child’s camp experience, their whole experience. We also understand that families are busy and that early departures for campers from camp may be unavoidable AND as you plan for your child to come to camp, we respectfully ask you to consider the following before planning to pick your child up early from camp.
Mass is the last time the camp community gathers before check-out. We come together to celebrate our faith and end our week.
The importance of saying good-bye to new friends and the camp counselors. These are formative relationships and are often what makes the camp experience the most meaningful. Being able to say goodbye can provide the closure a camper needs at the end of a week at camp. When a camper is picked up early there is not time for those goodbyes as camp programming is still taking place.
Your child’s preference and needs. A week at camp is high energy both physically and emotionally. Children can be drained at the end of their session. Sometimes when campers are picked up early, they are whisked away to another high energy or engaging activity which may not allow them time to process the experience.
To pick up your child early, contact Mae, Camp Registrar, at ext. 122 to make arrangements. Camp policy: Early pickups may only occur after 9:30 am, Monday-Friday and before 7pm, Monday-Thursday.
