Our Staff

​The staff members of Camp Rancho Framasa are a group of dynamic individuals who love camp! Most of all they love the campers and participants who attend the various programs each year. Camp Staff members are committed to making a difference in young lives through the magic they spin at camp. Working in the outdoors with children of all abilities is a calling like no other. The hours are often long and sometimes the weather does not cooperate, but through it all the Camp Rancho Framasa Staff is a dedicated group of people who see the future in our children.

The Camp Family...
At Camp Rancho Framasa, we are truly a camp family! Some of us live at camp, others live close by. By working at camp, all staff members become a part of the extended camp family.

Summer Staff
CYO Camp Rancho Framasa summer staff is made up of about 60 college age individuals. Many are in college studying a field that will enable them to work with children such as education, special education, human development and family studies, outdoor education, therapeutic recreation and more!

Program Staff
CYO Camp Rancho Framasa program staff is made up of 5-6 adults who have completed their studies in environmental education, outdoor recreation, or education. Their job is to facilitate the 9 months of the camp calendar, August through May, which involves outdoor education, retreats and community/leadership development.

Kara Koepfer
Counselor Mentor
3rd Year
Kara graduated from Ball State University and is attending University of Central Florida in the fall to get her masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Kara has had many roles at camp including counselor, adventure coordinator, and will be a counselor mentor this summer! “I think camp is an awesome community. It’s full of supportive people who are there for you no matter what. It’s a safe place to grow, try new things and fail at them, learn about the world and about yourself, and become a better person.”
Favorite Camp Activity: On main camp, canoeing! On adventure camp, sailing and caving!
 
Brycen Spangler
Inclusive Staff/Counselor
5th Year         
Brycen graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in December with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He plans to move to Indianapolis to pursue a career as a firefighter. Brycen’s favorite position he has had at camp is being a part of the inclusive team. “I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most funny, smart, and life changing kids and young adults while at camp. They have truly made camp and my life more enjoyable. They make my day every time I’m with them.”
Favorite Camp Activity: Campfire and high ropes!

Sean Erickson
4th Year
Program Staff
Sean attended Ball State University and has a degree in music production. He plans to move to Nashville, TN to pursue songwriting and music and youth ministry. Sean has been a counselor and is currently a part of the program staff at camp! “There are so many good moments where kids say or do something so simple and profound that it changes the way you live your life. It’s hard to walk away from a job that leaves such a positive impact.”
Favorite Camp Activity: Campfire!
 
Kelly Burger
3rd Summer
Adventure Coordinator  
Kelly graduated from Butler University with a degree in elementary education and Spanish. Kelly teaches in Indianapolis. Kelly will served as the adventure coordinator at camp! “Camp is an environment that welcomes you as you are and with every experience you bring with! It is a chance to take a break from the outside world and enjoy a week filled with excitement, new friendships, new challenges, and walk away on Friday knowing that it was one of the best weeks of the summer.”
Favorite Camp Activity: Main camp, Handies! Adventure camp, pontoon trip!      
     

                  
 Zach Albers
Inclusive Staff/Counselor
3 Year
Zach graduated from the University of Dayton where earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Zach has been a counselor and a part of the inclusive team! “I love working at camp for many reasons. I have worked at other places, but have never 
felt like my actions have made a difference in anyone’s life the way that working at camp does. Every week I have worked has shaped my life in different ways and have loved every moment of it.”
Favorite Camp Activity: High ropes!
